State, regional & global HCV disease burden analyses are now available on Polaris

The Polaris Observatory (http://polarisobservatory.org/polaris/hepC.htm) is updated quarterly with the latest prevalence, diagnosed, treated and disease burden data for over 100 countries. Now, regional and global data are also available on line. In the most recent update, data for the following regions were added: Global, WHO regions (Africa, Americas, Eastern Mediterranean, Europe, South East Asia, and Western Pacific), select US states (California, Colorado, Louisiana, Rhode Island and Washington) and British Columbia. “We strive to provide the most up to date information to support elimination of hepatitis C,” says Sarah Blach, the lead for HCV at Polaris. The WHO regional analyses are provided to aid WHO regional offices track progress toward regional elimination strategies. The US states analyses were funded by the CDC Foundation and the CDA Foundation while the work to model disease burden in British Columbia was funded by BCCDC.
